| Clifford Performance |  For many years, people have misunderstood the 6=8 logo used by Clifford Performance. What does it mean and how can 6 ever equal 8? Well, when applied to engine performance it can. Clifford Research (now Clifford Performance) was founded back in 1967 with the sole purpose of manufacturing quality products that improved the performance of the Detroit-based 6 cylinder engines. Research and testing by Clifford proved that a small displacement inline 6 cylinder engine, properly modified, would produce equal and, in some cases, more useable low r.p.m. power than a large displacement V8 engine - thus the trademark 6=8.
